Cleaning
Quarterly cleaning of your spa is recommended by most spa manufacturers. This is based on an industry standard normal bather load calculation. A normal bather load is basically as follows: 2-3 people using a spa 2-3 times a week. Above normal use and/or water maintenance (drain & filling) less than quarterly results in water becoming saturated with chemicals making it difficult to balance water chemistry and adjusting chemical levels up and/or down.
Our cleaning service consists of draining and scrubbing down your spa & hardcover, degrease & rinse filter(s), refill tub with fresh water, and balance the water chemistry (every three or four month program depending on spa use and water condition).
Chemical Testing
We’ll come to your house to test and balance your spa water and clean your filter(s). Incorrect chemical levels cause unsafe water, damage to your tub, and void most manufacturer’s warranties. Here are some tips on things to look for in your spa water and what the cause may be.
Ph - Too high: cloudy, scaling, staining, reduced chlorine efficiency, filtration problems.
Too low: corrosion, rapid loss of chlorine residual, irritation to bathers.
Total Alkalinity - Too high: ph will slowly creep up. Too low: ph will “bounce”, difficult to keep in range.
Total Hardness - Too high: cloudy and scale. Too low: corrodes metal and etches plaster.
Chlorine/Bromine Residual - Too low: no disinfection, “smell of chlorine/bromine” (chloramines formed - not enough chlorine/bromine to destroy organics - add more).
